Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans
 
Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans, also known as standalone PDPs, can only be purchased during certain times of the year.  These plans are typically purchased during the Annual Election Period (AEP), which runs from October 15th through December 7th for an effective date starting January 1st. 

Medicare Part D Prescription Drug plans can be purchased during the Annual Disenrollment Period (ADP – also known as the Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period MADP), which runs from January 1st through February 14th, if you are disenrolling from a Medicare Advantage plan.
